Won Keun OH教授简介

Prof. Oh acquired his Ph.D. degree from Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) as studies about natural products chemistry. As visiting scholar, he worked in Baylor College of Medicine, USA (2002-2004). He also worked in Korea Research Institute of Bioscience and Biotechnology (KRIBB) as a principle researcher (2005-2007) and then moved to College of Pharmacy in Chosun University as assistant professor (2007-2013). He has worked at College of Pharmacy in Seoul National University as associate professor of pharmacognosy since 2013. He has undertaken more than ten projects of the Korean government including Individual Basic Science & Engineering Research Program (2012-2015), the Procurement and Development of Foreign Biological Resources (2010-2016), and the Korea Bioactive Natural Material Bank (KBNMB, 2012-2017).

Prof. Oh has dedicated his efforts to identification of bioactive natural compounds from plants domestically and internationally to develop functional foods or new botanical/plant-originated drugs. He has worked on the main research topics as follows: (1) drug development for cellular aging and metabolic disorders by understanding the metabolic pathways of various levels of organisms, (2) discovery of anti-viral (i.e. corona or influenza viruses) materials originated from natural products, and (3) management of KBNMB by research collaborations and structure analysis of plant-oriented bioactive substances. He has published more than 144 SCI(E) papers in reputed journals such as Journal of Medicinal Chemistry, Journal of Natural Products, Phytochemistry, and Food Chemistry. He has also served as an associate editor in Natural Product Sciences (NPS).
